‘A deep sonic journey, guided by driving melodies, swirling soundscapes, and syncopated techno drums.’ That would encapsulate the sound and intentions of W19 best. Born in the Netherlands, W19, whose real name is Wouter Achterberg, had his first contact with music through classical piano lessons at the age of six. This training and experience brought fundamental knowledge of music theory. He started exploring compositions and began composing neoclassical pieces himself. Growing up during the 10s, artists such as Swedish House Mafia, Guru Josh Project, and deadmau5 sparked his interest in the electronic music scene. After listening to more and more electronic musicians, it was only a matter of time before he started attending his first raves. It was these raves that got Wouter heavily inspired to start exploring the electronic music production
