cYpher, founding member of the Bassassassins, has been a DJ since the early 90s and has his roots in hip hop and dancehall. So in the mid-90s the step to drum'n'bass was not far and the beats beyond 160bpm became the focus of DJ sets. As resident of the German branch of Soul In Motion in Bochum, he can currently be seen every three months at the Rotunde. He is also committed to drum'n'bass as a producer and label operator, and debuted as a featured artist with Nick Burne (Data, Nick Modern) on the UK digital label UK Breakbeat in 2013. This was followed by solo releases on UK Brakbeat and TUMA cassettes, until in 2018 it was only logical to launch his own digital label BassAssassins Records.
