Hercules & Love Affair

Andy Butler’s project Hercules & Love Affair has been an unwavering and uniquely daring voice in electronic music since his official first release in 2007, a bleepy techno house 12” entitled “Classique/Roar” on DFA. With Hercules & Love Affair, he has collaborated with great artists of many different genres, most notably a collaboration with ANOHNI on what has become a part of the dance music canon, “Blind”- in no small way thanks to a brilliant remix by Frankie Knuckles. Butler has explored many sounds over the course of five albums in 17 years as Hercules, with his latest “In Amber” (created alongside ANOHNI again), diving into deeper and darker territory, with industrial tinges and raw emotion.
