Black Coffee

Dive into the sonic realm of South African luminary, Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo, better known as Black Coffee. This DJ, producer, and songwriter has shaped the global music landscape. Emerging in 1994, Black Coffee gained acclaim post-2004 Red Bull Music Academy participation, delivering nine studio albums fusing R&B, jazz, and electronic vibes. His 2005 debut, "Black Coffee," sparked a journey adorned with 8 SAMA, 4 DJ Awards, 2 Metro FM Awards, and a Grammy. A pivotal moment occurred in 1990 when a car accident left him with a brachial plexus injury. Undeterred, he majored in Jazz Studies, collaborated with Madala Kunene, and formed SHANA, paving the way for Red Bull Music Academy recognition in 2003. The years 2005-2006 marked his ascent with the remix of Hugh Masekela's "Stimela" and the debut album. By mid-2007,
