Robert Fertl

Robert Fertl, smooth jazz artist, guitar-, trumpet-player, composer, producer, engineer, and vocalist. Robert Fertl was born in 1966 in Ergolsbach/LA. He began playing the guitar at the age of 6. Later on he learned to play the trumpet . His teacher was Thomas Reimer, Richard Klimeck, both teacher at the Richard Strauss Conservatory Munich at the time. Robert made rapid progress, winning National Guitar Competition with his own compositions, as well as First Place in the National Jazz Competition in Berlin. Robert record his first vinyl LP with the age of 18 years, together with his longtime teacher and mentor Richard Klimeck. He studed jazz guitar and composition 1985-1989 at Richard Strauss Conservatory Munich. In 1989 he moved to Los Angeles to study the jazz guitar at the Musicians Institute Hollywood Los Angeles
