SIM is a Montreal-based producer and researcher whose work exists at the intersection of genres. Known for coining the term "Slow Tech" to describe his unique approach to sound, SIM creates a gravitational pull between genres—particularly Techno and Dancehall—while maintaining the integrity of their respective histories. His sound traverses both the abstract and the concrete, drawing inspiration from Dub and Dancehall pioneers like Lee "Scratch" Perry, King Tubby, and Dave Kelly, alongside Techno innovators like Plastikman and Jeff Mills.
